Kinect Star Wars lands in April

kinect star wars nov 10 2010 200 Kinect Star Wars lands in AprilLucas Arts and Microsoft have today announced that Kinect Star Wars and the limited edition Star Wars Xbox 360 will be released on April 3 2012.

The game and console were originally part of Microsoft’s Christmas 2011 line-up until the game was held back in order to reach it’s “full potential.” As far as pricing goes the game will come with an RRP of £39.99 and the R2D2 styled console will come in at £349.99 – for that you get the limited edition 320GB Xbox 360, white Kinect, a copy of Kinect Star Wars and Kinect Adventures.

They’ve also announced a few new modes – including a dancing game, yes you read that correctly.

Within the Jedi Destiny mode you’ll encounter:

- Space battles: As you travel the Galaxy to face an evil that threatens to undermine the fabric of the Republic, you’ll engage with forces of the Empire in intense space battles
- Speeder Bikes and Landspeeders: Pilot iconic Speeder Bikes and Landspeeders on your epic journey
- New duels: Battle opponents like Count Dooku and Darth Vader on your journey to become a Jedi

As well as the following modes:

- New Duels of Fate mode, a battle-by-battle experience to sharpen your Jedi skills against the Dark Side.
- New Galactic Dance Off mode loaded with Star Wars-themed pop tunes where those still honing their Jedi skills can take a break to battle Darth Vader on the dance floor or bust a move “Solo style.”

Dancing mode aside, Kinect Star Wars is looking to be a nice little package for Star Wars fans – although, they should have released it on May the 4th.
